My Approach
My approach to counselling is grounded in my approach to life, I lean towards permission, pleasure, humour, trusting the process of people, and creating spaces to allow people to be curious, open, and seen. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which we can collaborate on whatever issues you're struggling with. Together we can journey into your inner world, make sense of your difficulties, find and create ways of coping, healing and thriving. My aim is to enable you to speak and live your own truth.
I use a Trauma-Informed integrated approach that draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused, Narrative, and mindfulness techniques to help you decrease stress, anxiety or depression or just make improvements for overall wellness. I also have tools and techniques to help all types of relationships using Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman and current sexual health models.
I take a more active stance than some traditional counsellors- balancing curious compassion with helpful feedback and psychoeducation. Ultimately, it is my belief that you are the expert on you, but together we can work to help you regain strength, love, health and hope.
